About Full Moons
The Full Moon marks the halfway point of the lunar cycle. During this powerful phase, as she drifts through the sky, she is at her largest and brightest. Her “face” is illuminated by the sun’s rays and can shine bright enough to light up the darkest nights.
Full Moons are times when the feminine moon energies (our emotion, intuition, subconscious) are at their peak. This phase is traditionally seen as the most powerful time for all “magick”, a time when your manifestations from the New Moon are coming to fruition and all releasing work that needs to be done happens. The 3 days before and after this monthly event are also enchanted with the extra energetic boost from the power of the Full Moon.
Full Moon in Libra
This Full Moon is the second of the year in the sign of Libra, which makes it a rare event. A lot of the same issues and energies that were swirling for the last Libra full moon (https://www.alliemaurer.com/post/full-moon-in-libra ) are still present during this one giving us the chance to bring things to completion.
It is also a Pink Moon, unfortunately, it will not appear pink but is referred as this because it coincides with the blooming of ground phlox which are a pink wildflower.
This Full Moon happens on a Friday (ruled by Venus) with the planet of Venus as a major aspect which means that our relationships will likely be impacted. Libra is the sign of balance so we may have to look at where our relationships are out of balance. Where are we giving too much, where are we taking too much. It is always important to juggle the needs of others with those of yourself with an emphasis this month on self love. Take time to create balance in your own life so you can function through the intense energy that is percolating. Sudden events and emotional outbursts are especially likely, so keep yourself grounded and come from a place of compassion and avoid arrogance and overconfidence. There is nothing wrong with choosing to be humble right now.
The intensity is rising with the other aspects in the astrological chart and this is a time for expansion but as the sun heads into Taurus much of our focus for expansion can be in finances, career, resources and building our lives up. This can be a time where we fall into a creative side hustle, start a business, or get a second job. Its a time to experiment with what we can do and learn new skills and crave change. As much as we want to dive into something new and follow our instincts, the responsibilities forced upon us can keep us from following our enthusiasm. With Taurus energy it's best to keep the old phrase in mind... "slow and steady wins the race". There is a need for change yet exhaustion is a very real issue, but even more dangerous is trying to resist change.
Summary
This is an interesting time where anything can happen. As we are seeing in the world with the burning of the churches in the southern United States, and a Mosque in Jerusalem burning at the same time as and Notre Dame in Paris, we are still in the midst of the old paradigm and patriarchy shifting back to the feminine principle of existence. While the Patriarchy was about the masculine energy being dominant, people mistake the shifting into the feminine energy with it ruling...which is not true. The new paradigm and matriarchy are about cooperation, balance, community and unity.
We can not resist change nor should we try but right now we should do our best to do everything in a balanced way. "peopling" may be more challenging right now and relationships more tense but that is to stimulate us to focus on fairness and juggling our needs with the needs of others. To balance our time with social time. To balance work and rest.
It's not all doom and gloom though, quite the contrary. For some the unexpected events could be an amazing promotion, a lover proposing, and reaching new levels of success. It is a time of empowerment and creating the life you want to live through healing and transformation. It is about becoming who you are and letting go of who your ego has convinced you to be.
So expand, grow and take flight but do it with the stamina to get to the finish line because right now it's an endurance race...so don't bother sprinting.
